The Kapuskasing Civic Centre was host to an information session regarding the Highway 11 project.

The connecting link upgrade will see a centre turning lane and a bike lane divided by a raised curb which will act as a median.

The small bridge over the golf course will be replaced using a technique involving concrete walls to add an estimated life of 75 years.

Yves Labelle, the towns’ Chief Administrative officer says that the snow mobile trails will remain untouched and possibly be better protected with the planned changes.

The FedNor investment of 1.4-million dollars will cover two-thirds of the project costs.

Eric Cotè says this is one of the largest infrastructure projects ever undertaken by the town.

The two phase plan will see the lane changes, raised bike lane implementation and new sewage, storm and sanitation infrastructure.
