NewsProvince Investing in Northern Ontario Hospitals SHARE ON: Gregory Rosser, contributor, Thursday, Jul. 23rd, 2015The Province of Ontario is investing nearly three-million dollars into Northern Hospitals.Notre Dame Hospital in Hearst will receive 130,700-dollars, Sensenbrenner in Kapuskasing will receive 153,100-dollars and Smooth Rock Falls will be given 51,900-dollars.In total there will be a one per cent increase in base funding, which may seem minimal but across all Ontario it amounts to a total of over seven-million dollars for small and rural hospitals.Michael Gravelle, Minister of Northern Development and Mines says that the increase makes a big different in the region, it helps hospitals continue to provide Northerners will health care services close to home.
