Councillor Julien Boucher won seek re-election in Kapuskasing

Kapuskasing Town Council will feature at least three new faces later this fall. The former chairman of the 100th anniversary committee Julien Boucher has confirmed with Moose News that he won’t be running in October’s municipal election.

“I have to take just a little break to focus on the other obligations that I have to do,” he said. “I’m not closing the door on coming back in the future. But for now I don’t want to run.

Boucher says he believes that the council position requires 100 per cent effort.

“I don’t want to just be there to just take a seat and go to the meetings and vote,” he said. “It’s a job that you really have to have the passion for it, really have to put more time than what’s asked of you.”

Boucher joins Martin Credger and Sebastien Lessard as those councillors who won’t be running this October.
