Ken Munnoch looks to return to his seat this fall on Kap Town council

There will be at least two current town councillors running for re-election in Kapuskasing this fall. Ken Munnoch has confirmed with Moose News that he’ll run for a second term, joining Bruce Newton. Munnoch says what he’s appreciated the most was to understand how the town really works.

“And there is so many moving parts to Kapuskasing, and I’m just learning what the municipality does and here,” he said. “We are really lucky because we have knowledgeable and dedicated staff and employees who deliver some very high quality municipal services to us.”

Munnoch says he also got to learn about the volunteers of the various organizations that make a difference in the community. He adds that he has great memories of his first term. including being part of Kapuskasing’s 100 celebrations.

“We were able to pull off a lot of things that we weren’t necessarily able to do,” he said. “I mean we were ultimately able to have an in-person community celebration that was just wonderful and was a tremendous showcase of makes this place so great.”

Munnoch says he encourages anyone who has an interest in municipal politics to run, adding that a diversity of backgrounds helps to make well-balanced council. The deadline to submit the paperwork is Friday, August 19th.
