Children’s Treatment Centre taking over two Porcupine Health Unit programs this fall

Little will change, when the Cochrane Temiskaming Children’s Treatment Centre takes over full delivery of two programs from the Porcupine Health Unit.

They’re the pre-school speech and language program, and the infant hearing program.

Treatment Centre executive director Marie Rouleau says the transition is on towards the October 1st target date across the Cochrane District.

“A top priority for our team here at the Children’s Treatment Centre is to ensure continuity of service as well as timely access to service for families,” Rouleau states.

Many of the kids in the programs are already involved in the centre’s programs dealing with their physical, perceptual, communication and developmental needs.

“The familiarity with the programs is something that we’re very comfortable with,” Rouleau says confidently.
