Northern authors featured at book fair

The Northern Ontario Book Fair moves outdoors this year, for its fourth annual event.

Founder and organizer Jes Trudel says it will be on Third Avenue in Timmins on Saturday, August 20th.

“Anyone who was born in, currently resides in or has spent a significant amount of time in Northern Ontario growing up is eligible to sign up for a table,” she explains.

The author’s book or books can carry any theme. The fair will also feature readings.

“There’s going to be a little stage and microphone and speaker so that people can come up and do some readings,” notes Trudel. “So the authors that are present, some of them will be doing readings and there will also be some open mic opportunities for other people in the community that perhaps are writers but they don’t have a published book to sell at the fair.”

Registration is being accepted until August 2nd at writingcommunity.ca/book-fair for $49.00 plus HST.
