There has been a lot of tire kicking, but no nominations have yet been submitted to the Town of Kap for this fall’s Municipal Election. Clerk Chantal Guillemette says that part of the hesitancy might be waiting to see who else is running for the various positions.
“Then they see who they could be running against,” she said. “That might be something else too of waiting until the very last minute to see who else is running and to see what the competition is out there. If there is enough people that put in their nominations.”
She adds that information sessions for those candidates who are thinking of throwing their hat into the ring will be held next month.
“I want to give it at least a good month before nomination period closes,” she said. “I want people to be informed and see if there is a lot of uptake then we could host one, two or three sessions if necessary, and try to accommodate when people are available.”
