For the first time since 2019 College Boreal in Kapuskasing held an in-person graduation ceremony on Wednesday night. Fifteen students graduated from Business, Accounting, Personal Support Worker and Office Administration programs. Director of the Hearst Campus Michelle Lebel says it was an emotional night for everyone, especially the students who had to persevere through a pandemic.
“And had to learn to adapt and so many changes but they all did it and worked so hard and were a great group of students,” she said. “They adapted to changes going from hybrid classes to completely virtual so it was great to see.”
Lebel says with the success of hybrid learning the past two years that the school might offer more programs like that.
“Because we have Boreal en ligne which offers online courses, you can have in-person or you can kinda have this hybrid mode where a student can have a few classes here on campus but some of them also by zoom with teachers and doing them from home,” she said.
