A Kapuskasing resident would like to see the town to honour those who lost their lives in residential schools in a special way.
Peter Sackaney made a presentation to town council asking for a monument to be created as a way of moving forward with truth and reconciliation. He says the monument would show the town and the indigenous community are working together to benefit everyone.
Sackaney adds it  should be in a public location that those passing through town can come by and visit and pay their respects.
