The Centre de Loisirs is spread its wings to help celebrate a special occasion in the area. Executive Director Denik Dorval says the Centre is finalizing plans for a major event to help Moonbeam celebrate its 100th birthday this year.
“So when Moonbeam approached us asking to help them with their festivities we were quite happy to do so,” he said. “So it’s going to be on the 15th and 16th of July comedy festival. And we’re just happy to help organize the 100th anniversary celebrations of Moonbeam.”
Dorval says the festival will be inclusive featuring french and English comedians.
He adds that being inclusive is important to the Centre with the recently completed English show Junkyard Symphony and the addition of a second one in June with Quartz.
“Because they do everything which is beat boxing, the music behind but also the singing,” he said. “Quartz are very talented group, very popular around the world so we are just lucky to have them In Kapuskasing.”
