When The Great Benjamins Circus comes to Kapuskasing on Thursday, May 5, it will be a homecoming of sorts for the promoter. Moonbeam native Louis Leonard will be part of the group. He says his time will be very limited during the stop.
“I won’t have much time to see anybody because I will be working really hard,” he said. “This is a work period for me. So you know my mom is there and I will see her but besides that – that’s probably going to be it.”
Leonard says his fondest memories aren’t of the Sports Palace where the circus will be held but at the original Kapuskasing Arena on McPherson Avenue.
“My grandparents, and my grandfather sitting in the seats at 10:30 in the morning watching me practice with my Peewee team and my Peewee game,” he said.
