Timmins New Democratic MPP Gilles Bisson has suffered a heart attack and undergone surgery.
In a statement from the party, Bisson says it happened over the weekend, and he had a triple bypass in Toronto.
Bisson – who has been the MPP since 1990 – adds that he’ll be back to work after a four-week leave; and has been approved by his doctor to campaign for the June election.
