Five Kapuskasing projects get money from Heritage Fund

Five projects including the Greenfirst Kapuskasing Mill are getting a combined $3.4 million from the Northern Ontario Heritage Fund.

The Northeast Community Network is receiving $1.3 million to install over 1,800 acres of tile drainage and to develop a business plan to learn how to best use the $1.2 million acres of previously privately held land that was formerly the Experimental Farm.

Close to $1.2 million is headed to Rogers Crop Enterprises to establish a grain and oilseed farm creating six jobs. The Town of Kap is getting over $455,000 to help fix up the Sports Palace.

O’Brien’s Butcher’s Market will add equipment and make building improvement with $200,000 it’s also getting from the fund.
