Several Hearst businesses get provincial government funding

The Northern Ontario Heritage Fund is providing more than $683,000 to four economic development projects in Hearst.

The Town of Hearst is getting over $295,000 to replace the Rene Fontaine Municipal Airport in-ground fuel system with an above-ground fuel tank. Over $206,000 is going to Shawn Lecours Logging Limited to purchase equipment and expand operations.

A new custom software company, Tecnor Business Solutions, will receive just over $57,000 to help with the business start-up, while I.C.S Lumber is getting over $35,000 to increase production capacity and expand the mill.

I.C.S President Conrad Lacroix says the business has been slowing growing since it was created in 2010, turning forestry waste into value added products.
