The debate on which contractor the Arena Roofing project will be awarded to has come to a close.

Sika Sarnafil has been awarded the roofing contract, not only did they tender the lowest bid but in 2014 Sarnafil completed a project for the Sensenbrenner Hospital in Kapuskasing.

Councillor David Plourde noted that if council had accepted the late Sentinel Membranes tender it could have exposed them legally to a lawsuit from their competitors who actually met the deadlines set by town council.

Also approved  on the agenda is the tender submissions for the Highway 11 Connecting Link Upgrade project.

The project could include adedicated turning lane as well as a bike lane divided by a median installed on the stretch of Government Road within Kapuskasing’s town limits.
