A new one-to-one iPad program is being introduced for grades seven to ten in member schools of the Ontario District Schoolboard North East.

The boards new budget was released and Pearl Fong-West, the Superintendent of Business says no major cuts were made.

With the greater access to technology she’s happy it didn’t come at a cost to other programs or initiatives the board plans to implement.

This comes only two weeks after one of the board’s trustees, Wayne Major, made a presentation to Town Council outlining ways to cut costs. He suggested sharing more services than bussing without impeding on language and cultural barriers and fostering better relationships between boards in north eastern Ontario.
