Hearst mayor says search for the Town’s new CAO going well

The Town of Hearst continues its search for a new Chief Administrative Officer following the departure of Yves Morrissette to the Ottawa area. Morrissette had been the CAO of the Town for the past six years. Mayor Roger Sigouin says the search is going well with about nine people interested in the top post.

“It’s really interesting to see people, the young people who want to come back to the community with their family where they were born,” she said. “And some other candidates too with good references. I’m looking forward to having the best person in place.”

Sigouin says he’s impressed with some of the qualifications of the candidates.

“But it’s not only about education. It’s doing the job and be able to exchange with the team,” he said. “I always base it on that hockey team — if you do have a good coach and have a good GM everything is going good and you have to bring back the team together.”

Janine Lecours who was the Town Clerk has taken over as interim CAO until the new replacement is found.
