Moose Cree First Nation council gets money to build Wetum Road north of Smooth Rock Falls

First Nation communities along the James Bay Coast will once again have access to the Highway 11 corridor.

The province announced just over $381,000 for the construction of Wetum Road from Otter Rapids north Smooth Rock Falls to Moosonee and Moose Factory.

There is no word on when Wetum Road will be open to the public. Last year Moose Cree First Nation council opted out of building the winter access road due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
