Timmins Airport news: Limits inside terminal; Air Canada reduces daily flights

The Omicron surge of COVID-19 has Timmins Airport manager Dave Dayment reminding us of crowd limitations inside the terminal building.

“We’re asking meeters and greeters to please wait outside and wait for your passenger and/or drop them off outside,” he explains.

There is, of course, an exemption for any who needs help inside.  And Dayment says there’s a grace period in the parking lot, so that vehicles don’t clog the fire route outside the building.

“The parking lot is free for an hour, so they can pull in there, take a ticket and within an hour, the same entrance ticket will allow you to exit without having any payment.”

One other aviation note: Dayment says that due to ongoing issues with crew availability, Air Canada will reduce its daily flights into and out of Timmins to two from the current four by mid-month.
