Chamber of Commerce’s finding Rudolph contest wraps up

An innovative shop local campaign in our region by the Kapuskasing and District Chamber of Commerce has wrapped up. The Finding Rudolph contest had participants visit stores on a daily basis to look for a poster of Santa’s lead reindeer. Communications and Economic Development Intern Veronique Bergeron says the contest went better than anticipated.

“We were actually not expecting that many participants,” she said. “We had over 2,000 ballots at the end of the contest.”

She adds the businesses owners had nothing but positive comments about the local shoppers.

“The business owners told us that they had customers they had never seen before enter the store, and they had more traffic than usual,” she said. “So this is really good news and we are really excited.”

The grand prize winners were Linda Fortin in Hearst and Yves Lachance in Kapuskasing who took home $1,000 each in Chamber Bucks. The money must be spent locally with participating merchants.
