Holiday safety: What to make sure you have in the car before leaving home

n the rush to hit the road towards Grandma’s house this Christmas, you might forget a few essentials. OPP Constable Michelle Simard has some advice for the trip.  First off, be properly prepared for winter driving.

“That might include having an ice scraper, a snow brush,” she says. “Ensure all your windows are clear before you take off. That’s a really important one.”

“Have a well stocked emergency supply kit. Jumper cables, first aid kit, blanket, shovel, flashlight. Allow extra time for travelling because weather conditions are unpredictable and we want to make sure that you get there safe.”
