Two hunters including one from Kapuskasing pled guilty to moose hunting without a license and fined following an incident south of the town last year.
Natural Resources and Forestry conservation officers watched two men actively hunting a moose during a planned moose decoy operation.
When contacted by conservation officers, the two men said they were hunting for black bear and not moose. But the officers added that the hunters didn’t have a valid license and possessed equipment. The two hunters were each fined $1,500 for the incident.
