There’s a new collective group of organizations that will now be able to benefit all of northern Ontario municipalities. The announcement came out earlier this week that FONOM, the Federation of Northern Ontario Municipalities, Northwestern Ontario Municipal Association and the Northern Ontario Service Deliverers Association have joined forces and have had their first joint meeting. Their first organized meeting was a teleconference last month. It’s expected this joint front will be able to bring a larger voice forward to the province on issues facing the north. The next planned meeting is set for next month.
