COVID-19 vaccination for kids 5 to 11 has arrived in Porcupine Health Unit territory.
Program manager Kendra Brunet says online booking is available on the PHU website, or by phone. And walk-ins are allowed – there’s enough of the pediatric vaccine to meet demand.
“That being said,” Brunet interjects, “we do have youth-specific clinics set up across the district where we are encouraging booked appointments, really just to reduce the amount of wait time that the children will have to face once they arrive to the clinic.”
Brunet says she highly encourages appointments, so the health unit can create a calm environment for the youngsters.
“But we do have walk-in clinics across the district and we would see youth and children at the walk-in clinics as well, if that was the best environment or easiest clinic to access.”
