Town of Hearst nearly ready to approve its employee COVID-19 vaccination policy

The Town of Hearst should have a Covid-19 vaccination policy for its employees in a few weeks. Town Council sent back the policy for clarification during a meeting this week. Mayor Roger Sigouin says about 95 per cent of the employees are double vaccinated against the virus.

“Sure we are proud of that,” he said. “I mean  we are still in process to get more people vaccinated but yes with the degree we have in Hearst, we are quite proud of it.”

Under the proposed policy, those employees not vaccinated against COVID-19 will have to be tested twice a week.

“It is very similar to Kapuskasing and other communities,” he said. “I mean fully vaccinated and policy with the testing against COVID. Not only with the employees, but the same thing with the town council.”
