A holiday campaign to get everyone to shop local kicks off in our region over the next couple of weeks. The District Chamber of Commerce’s Finding Rudolph promotion starts Monday in Kapuskasing and the following Monday in Hearst. The campaigns both end on December 20th with grand prizes draws of $1,000 each. Chamber intern Veronique Bergeron says the contests are easy and fun for the whole family.
“They have to find the poster and there is a QR code on it and just have to scan it and fill out a ballot online for a chance to win one of the draws,” she said. “If they don’t have a cell phone and want to participate then they can fill out a paper ballot next to the display.”
There are daily, weekly and a monthly draws for chances to win $50, and even $100 gift cards.
Chamber officials say the contest creates great traffic throughout the stores because it allows customers to walk around and find the sign with the QR code.
