Someone – maybe more than one – took advantage of the dark of night to steal a power golf cart overnight Saturday at the Kapuskasing Golf Club.
Club manager André Robichaud figures it happened at around 2:00am.
The culprits tried to steal two carts from storage, but got away with only one. It’s a 2015 or 2017 Yamaha.
“It’s quite unique,” Robichaud notes. “It has a sound system built into it. Maybe that’s why they targeted that one.”
Robichaud estimates the value of the cart at about $10,000 new. He admits that power cart storage is vulnerable, in terms of security.
“I doubt that they drove away with that cart,” he remarks. “They were probably loaded into a trailer. So that’s why I assume it was probably around two o’clock, because it tripped a motion camera.”
