You can get a jump on a job for next summer by applying now to fight forest fires in Ontario.
MNRF forest fire information officer Isabelle Chenard says there are several requirements to be a forest fire ranger.
“You have to be at least 18 years of age, have completed specific courses in forest fire fighting training, so the SP-100 as well as the WFX Fit and have a standard first aid,” she outlines.
“So applications are actually open until April 15th. So we do encourage those interested to put in their application as soon as possible, but of course you have until the springtime to apply.”
