Two Remembrance Day services planned for Kapuskasing area

Remembrance Day Services in our region won’t be limited to crowd size this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Royal Canadian Legion  Kapuskasing branch president Donna Todd says anyone can attend the services in Fauquier this Sunday at 2 pm and in town next Thursday.

“The regular November 11th service at the Kapuskasing Cenotaph,” she said. “Formation is at 10:30, ceremonies get underway at 10:50 with two minutes of silence at 11 o’clock. Everyone will be welcome to come over to the legion after, but they must provide proof of double vax as well as wear a mask.”

Todd says one event that won’t be returning is the supper that usually takes place in the evening at the Legion due to the pandemic and health protocols. She adds the Legion has been open since September with a full list of activities and members are looking forward to their traditional Remembrance Day services.
