Centre de Sante extends winter clothing collection due to increase demand

The Centre de Sante in Kapuskasing has extended its collection of winter items following a big demand during the first week of their coat drive. Organizer Desiree Beaudette says nearly half of the 150 coats that were initially collected were distributed.

“And serve over 30 individuals and families,” she said. “It went so well that we have three distribution dates to the next following Thursdays which will end on November 11th at the food bank from noon to 3:30. It’s obviously a need in our community so we just want to make sure that we don’t run out of coats.”

Beaudette says they are looking for winter clothing to fit nearly all ages and sizes.

“So anything for adults so women and men as well as children and teenagers,” she said. “But what we are looking for is anything that can be dry cleaned so specifically winter coats or ski pants.”

If you would like to donate any items, you can drop them off at Northstar Linen until the end of the week.
