Cold, windy and wet. That’s the weather that the fishermen faced in the Kapuskasing Volunteer Firefighters fish derby on Saturday. But it didn’t deter them from coming out in droves. Of the 50 boats registered for the event 49 boats were on the water. Still waiting for those final results. Later in the day everyone went to the Sports Palace for an evening of music which featured local talents including Flip Side. The musical evening concluded with Destroyer, a tribute to KISS rocking the arena. And the winner of the boat, motor and trailer was Josee Berube of Kapuskasing. Here’s the complete list of winners:
In 3rd place was Team 2 consisting of, Steve Dorval, Tiffany Dorval, Alain Dorval, & Mireille Dorval.
In 2nd place was Team 9, Paul Nadeau, Angele Nadeau, Michel Ricard, &Deanne Mangan.
In 1st place was Team 44, with Kyle Chmilewski, Sophie Chmilewski, Luc Portelance, &Dominique Tremblay.
There was a great turnout of 50 Boats for the tournament as well as for the Destroyer (Kiss) Concert.
