Free flu shots will be available across Ontario beginning next month.
The medical officer of health for the Porcupine Health Unit, Dr. Lianne Catton, says they’ll be available in the usual places, and at COVID-19 vaccination clinics. She says it’s incredibly important to have both.
“We definitely know that the masking, the hand washing, the types of measures that people have worked really hard to help protect our communities from COVID have likewise protected and helped our communities against influenza and other infectious agents,” Catton claims. “And so continuing to do those things will definitely be incredibly important as we move into the influenza season.”
Confirmed flu cases were barely a blip on the radar last season, versus tens of thousands most years.
