A new industrial centre has opened in Smooth Rock Falls giving businesses a location to call home. Dave Bernier of DBI Diesel Inc is one of those businesses that have moved into the 9.57 hectare industrial park. Bernier says the new spot is a perfect location for his business to grow.
“I have another shop in town but there are neighbours and a motel nearby,” he said. “So me being able to move at the industrial park was great cause I can make some noise now.”
Bernier couldn’t be happier with the spot, adding that for a long time it was just him operating the business and now he has been able to grow.
“I’ve been able to get my business going to three employees now…and since there is not too many jobs in town ever since they shut the mill down,” he said. “I think it’s great the town went ahead and doing this industrial park.”
The industrial centre features 12 turnkey lots and is located at the former site of the Tembec Mill.
