As many communities across our region try to develop a vaccination policy for its employees and staff, the town of Hearst is in a wait-and-see mode. Chief Administrative Officer Yves Morrissette says town staff is monitoring the situation with the employees. He adds that there’s been brief discussion with town council over the issue but no formal decision has been made.
“We are following the Porcupine Health Unit’s recommendations on this so, I can’t say for now when it’s going to be implemented,” he said. “But there is a good chance it might be.”
Morrissette says the town is monitoring what’s happening in other communities that have a policy in place.
“We want something to be adapted to our situation here in Hearst,” he said. “So yes we will definitely have a look at what those communities are doing.”
