Hearst Rotary Club Clock getting a complete makeover

A makeover of the clock tower in Hearst is nearly complete. Rotary Club president Marjolaine Talbot-Lemaire (Mar-jo-lane Tal-bot-Le-mayor) says several residents alerted the town and the rotary club about issues with the clock and temperature display. She adds that a grant from the Town of Hearst helped to fix it up.

“To be able to change the motherboard so we could have a new display on it” she said. “And while we got that fixed we noticed over the few decades the original structure was starting to show some signs of damage.”

Talbot-Lemaire says the tower has become not only a fixture in the community for the last three decades, but important to the club.

“Also reminds us that we are not in our community we are involved,” she said. “We are active as well. It’s pride really that’s why we really wanted to keep it, keep it updated, fixed for the next generation.”
