Kids are back on their bikes with the nice weather. Parents have a responsibility to make sure their bikes are in good working order to ensure safety for their children. A few simple safety checks include sizing the bike properly, making sure the chain is tight, and the bike is fitted with a working horn or bell. It’s also the law that children under 18 wear a well-fitting helmet while out biking. Recently the Kapuskasing OPP held a bicycle registration so that lost or stolen bikes can be returned to their rightful owners.
