Despite some inclement weather, Kapuskasing Rendezvous Weekend was a resounding success.
Large crowds attended events not only at the Civic Centre but lined the parade route on opening night. Marc Desilets and Logan Staley won the adult and junior division titles in the Kapuskasing’s got talent competition on Saturday night. The Rendezvous concluded with a incredible fireworks and drone show that lit up the sky of the Kapuskasing River Bay.
There was also a visit from protesters outside the Civic Centre grounds on Saturday afternoon. About 20 people waved signs for about 10 minutes before marching off to the downtown. The signs were opposed to the government’s vaccination passport plan and the current mask policy that is in place.
