Water meters and street paving on Kap Town Council agenda

Streets paving in the Val Albert subdivision and improving the water meter system are topics on the agenda of tonight’s Kapuskasing Town Council meeting.

Town Councillors are expected to approve the go ahead of Algonquin and St. Patrick’s Street paving. Those streets were part of the municipal budget, but work was being held off until construction was completed on Government Road from LaSalle to Gurney Road.

Town Staff is also asking council for the go ahead with a smaller scale water meter improvement project. The cost is $114,509 and the money will come from the modernization funds. The town is looking at installing a detection tower on the town’s water tower, as well as pressure transmitters and new computer software.
