Contract talks are continuing between officials of three of the major unions and GreenFirst Forest Products, the new owners of the Kapuskasing lumber and paper mill.
International Brotherhood of Electrical Workers, Unifor and the United Steel Workers represent approximately 500 employees in the mill. Rayonier Advanced Materials recently sold the Kapuskasing mill and several others in the region to GreenFirst Forest Products.
The labour negotiations between the Green First and the three unions are part of the transfer of ownership of the mill to the new company.
