It’s official. Six candidates will vie for the Algoma-Manitoulin-Kapuskasing seat in the September 20th federal election.
Those interested in running had until Monday to officially submit their paperwork with Elections Canada. Harry Jaaskelainen has been added as the People’s Party of Canada candidate. Jaaskelainen, a professional forester and businessman lives in Echo Bay.
He joins five other candidates including NDP incumbent Carol Hughes, Duke Peltier of the Liberals, John Sagman from the Conservatives, Green Party’s Stephen Zimmermann and Clarence Baarta of the Christian Heritage Party.
