Cultural centres across the region have started to reopen and plan activities in hopes of providing that normalcy you have been missing. Kapuskasing’s Centre De Loisirs new Executive Director Denik Dorval says one activity coming back is the beer festival in October.
“Host a two day event that would attract a lot of people to Kapuskasing,” he said. “I think it’s quite an important event that blends the business side to the cultural side. So I think it’s a very interesting. We hope to receive some funding from the province also to help us with it.”
Dorval says he’s looking forward to building off the success of the first festival a few years ago.
He adds one event already underway is a display at the art gallery.
“All of the artists that came by the Centre de Loisirs for an exposition over the years, we have pieces of their artwork on display right now in our gallery,” he said. “It is free to enter and check out the talent.”
