The Claude Larose Recreation Centre in Hearst is getting a major makeover.
The Town of Hearst is getting more than $3.4 million from the federal and provincial governments to help cover the project. It will cost over $2.1 million to fix up the Stephane Lecours Swimming Pool with improved ventilation and filtration systems, change rooms and offices.
Just over $2.5 million will be spent on the Claude Larose Recreation Centre to replace seating in the main rink, improve the dasher boards on the adjacent rink, and upgrade ice making system. A ramp will also be built to make the main rink mezzanine more accessible.
