Construction crews making progress at the Little Long dam safety project

Concrete work and site preparation for an increase in spring river flow have kept work crews busy at the Little Long Dam Safety project north Kapuskasing.

Ontario Power Generation’s Kate Cantin says the concrete was used to help with the construction of the four new sluice gates.  She adds that the area near the Adam Creek spillway was cleared to keep the workers safe during the increase in river flow in the spring.

All of the heavy equipment was removed, a temporary road was taken out and protective barriers were also installed.  She notes that the efforts were effective in keeping the work area dry and workers safe.
