Two are in what the PHU calls “the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Matheson” and five in Timmins. Total now is 704. Health unit does not report a number of current cases.The Porcupine Health Unit region is getting closer to 700 COVID-19 cases since the pandemic began. Nine new cases reported today bring the total to 698. The new ones are all in Timmins.At the same time, PHU is revealing a potential exposure to anyone who was at the Living Space homeless shelter on Cedar St. N. last Saturday and Sunday, between 8:00am and 4:00pm both days.Paramedics are testing all staff and any visitors to Living Space today (Sat., May 8) and again tomorrow between 11:00am and 4:00pm at the shelter. No appointment is necessary.
