Council expected to decide whether trash swap week and spring clean up stays in May or delayed

Kap Town Council is expected decide whether to keep Trash Swap Week and Spring Clean-up Collection scheduled for next month or have the events delayed due to the current provincial lockdown.

Trash Swap Week is tentatively set for the week of May 10th and then the collection of those unwanted items that are left at curbside takes place the following week. The safety of both residents and town employees is important according to town staff. Employees are expected to have proper PPE for the collection week.

Council will also learn more about two grants it’s receiving from the province including $3 million for the Connecting Link to help with the paving of Government Road from Gurney Road to the Servicemaster location. That project is expected to go to tender next Spring. It’s the first council meeting since the latest provincial lockdown so its back to video conferencing.
