As more COVID-19 vaccinations clinics are announced in the area, having reliable transportation is also part of the process. The Flex Shuttle is offering free rides to those seniors 60 and older from Moonbeam to Opasatika including Kapuskasing. Spokesman Al Robichaud says the process begins with booking your appointment.
“And if they need transportation they mention at that time that they would need it,” he said. “The number to call is 1-800-461-1818.”
Robichaud says due to COVID-19 restrictions, the shuttle can only pick up five in Moonbeam at 9 am and another five Opasatika-Val Rita Harty in the afternoon on the days of the clinics.
“And the vaccination appointment will be take place at 2 pm, so the shuttle will be able to pick people in Opasatika at 1 pm and if there are people in Val-Rita you are looking at 1:45.”
The Flex Shuttle is a four year project funded through a grant from the province and money from area municipalities.
