April snow storm headed for Kap

You’ll want to get your snow shovel and car brush back out.  You’ll need them in the morning.

Environment Canada meteorologist Steven Flisfeder (FLISS-fed-ur) says the Kapuskasing area is under a snowfall warning, expecting a fairly significant amount of the white stuff.

“We’re looking at snowfall amouints of at least 15 cm,” he tells My Kapuskasing Now Dot Com, “but there is some uncertainty with the total amounts.”

The further north you go towards James Bay, the more snow – probably 20 or 25 centimetres.

“It should be out of the area by Wednesday morning,” Flisfeder predicts. “There may be some lingering snowflurries, but definitely diminishing snowfall through Wednesday.”

West and south of Kap, however, the Timmins-Cochrane area is only in for five or ten centimetres of snow.
