School is back in session on Monday — but from home, not in the classroom.
That leaves some parents in a bind, if they have to go to work and have no one to watch the kids.
So the province is picking up the tab for approved emergency child care spaces.
In our district, it’s run by the social services administration board. Director of children’s services Shannon Costello says not all the locations are set up for distance learning.
“They will have to make those arrangements with their school,” she suggests. “This opportunity is for those who do not have that alternative for anyone to watch them at home.”
