Seven new cases of COVID-19 were announced by the Porcupine Health Unit late this afternoon.

Two of them are from Black River-Matheson Township’s municipal office, qualifying it as the site of an outbreak. Three others are in what the health unit calls “the area of Cochrane, Matheson, Iroquois Falls and Smooth Rock Falls”. One is the result of contact with another case.  The other two are under investigation.

The final two cases are in Timmins – one from contact, one being investigated.

That brings the total in the region so far to 392.  Thirty-six are currently active.
