Extreme cold temperatures over the past few months didn’t slow down construction at the Little Long Dam Safety Project north of Kapuskasing.
OPG officials say heaters and pumps were brought in to keep equipment from freezing. Rock excavation continues at the site and the installation of a barge landing is nearly complete. Away from the construction site, a gym and recreation room was added to help employees enjoy more of a normal lifestyle.
Construction at the dam is expected to be completed by 2023.
